The World Cup has, in some instances, been pretty difficult to predict as far as goals are concerned, and our return of 1/5 is testament to the fact.
Who saw Sweden netting against Germany, or Tunisia against Belgium? It’s a tough school, but now we have had another round of matches to watch hopefully we can get a bit nearer the mark as far as our Both Teams to Score Betting Tips are concerned this week.

Spain vs Russia – No (4/6)
Have Russia got one more big performance in them? You sense that their bubble burst somewhat in defeat to Uruguay last time out, and now they face the mountainous task of beating Spain in the last 16.
To do so, they will need to score and we simply don’t fancy that they have got the quality to find the net past a defence of Champions League and La Liga winners.
It’s easy to get carried away in tournament football, but remember that Russia’s wins thus far have come against Saudi Arabia and an Egypt side for whom Mo Salah was clearly injured.
Once tested by a ‘proper’ side like Uruguay they were found wanting, and we just can’t see them competing with the Spaniards on Sunday.
Croatia vs Denmark – No (4/7)
Denmark have scored just two goals in 270 minutes of football in Russia so far, and it’s hard to imagine them building on that against a rock solid Croatia outfit.
Hands up: we were wrong about the Croatian backline, which has held up well with Dejan Lovren and Domagoj Vida overseeing proceedings.
Indeed, they have only conceded one goal thus far and that came from the penalty spot, so expect a clean sheet from the Croatians here.
Minnesota United vs FC Dallas – Yes (1/2)
One of the interesting things about Minnesota United is just how many goals they score/concede from open play, which is usually a tell-tale sign as to how likely BTTS is to follow.
Some 17/19 scored and 22/29 conceded have been from open play situations, and that is an indicator of how wide open the games are where Minnesota line up.
Dallas are a classy outfit who also score a lot of goals in open play (18/24), and they have found the net in 93% of all MLS games they have played this term.
Chicago Fire vs New York City – Yes (1/2)
Both teams to score has landed in each of Chicago’s last seven games, and that run shows no sign of slowing down against an NYC outfit who really cannot defend on the road.
Patrick Vieira’s former employer has conceded 21 goals this term and 17 of those have come away from home; a startling statistic.
Just as impressively from the perspective of goals-based punters, New York’s last five away matches have ended in 1-3, 2-2, 0-4, 0-3 and 2-2 scorelines.
Landskrona vs Osters – Yes (4/6)
It’s off to a favourite of ours now: the Swedish Superettan.
This week’s chosen combatants are Landskrona, whose 14 games this term have witnessed 36 goals, and Osters, for whom six of their last seven outings have witnessed three or more goals.
One of the things we really like about Osters is that they have scored in six of their seven away dates this term, which shows they are happy to attack even on enemy territory.
They will find Landskrona to be a willing opponent – they beat Gefle 5-1 not all that long ago, and so we are hopeful of plenty of goalmouth action at both ends in this one.
